Let’s study Ka Ke Ki Ko Ku! か け き こ く 勉強しましょう!

The next line we will be studying is the “k” line.

か – (ka) To make the か sound you combine the “k” sound with a “ah” sound. It is similar to the English co sound in the word copy.

KA-hiragana

け – (ke) To make the け sound you combine the “k” sound with the “eh” vowel sound. It is similar to the English ca sound in the word capable.

KE-hiragana

き – (ki) To make the き sound you combine the “k” sound with the “ee” vowel sound. It is similar to the English ke sound in key.

KI-hiragana

こ – (ko) To make the こ sound you combine the “k” sound with the vowel “oh” sound. It is similar to the English co sound in the word cohabit.

KO-hiragana

く – (ku) To make the く sound you combine the “k” sound with the vowel “oo” sound. It is similar to the English word coo.

KU-hiragana
